Holland was hard to like for some at first, I’ll admit (still one of my favorite characters,) but how could you possibly hate him?
Not to mention, he had every reason to act like that.

Exactly! His character is to play the grown up who is surprisingly immature and he doesn’t realize it, so he has to GROW to realize it. And even from the start, he just had that likable quality to him. I mean sure I can see why punching Renton about 4 times would’ve put some people off, but geez its the ONLY way he dealt with him because he DIDN’T know how to deal with it. He was responding in a childlike way while trying to be an adult, and it made him such a great character in my eyes. ;A;
Y’know what at some point I’m going to make an appreciation text post about Holland and slap it on PlanetaryOratorio.

It’s funny that when I first watched E7, I related more with Renton as a little kid who wanted to do great things but didn’t think it was possible.
Now I relate with Holland because he does cool things but is also a giant insecure manchild and I am also one of those.  Holland is probably the best character of the show, whoops.
