Kazumi Totaka - 12 AM (New Leaf)

oh my god, this is the first time I’ve heard the music of New Leaf.  I am filled with such hope that this will be a great game.  It’s already so much better than Wild World’s soundtrack.  I’m in love.  I’m more excited for this game than I ever have been.

The music of this game was easily the most anticipated aspect of it for me.  To hear this one hour alone, I’m faithful that it will be a proper return to form.  Just the fact that the instrumentation is varied and not just the two same instruments repeated as Wild World’s was, it just fills me with so much hope and assurance.  This even feels more emotional and heartfelt than some of the songs in the original game.

I owe Kazumi Totaka so much, for me even wanting to be a games composer to begin with.  I feel like the proper way to consume this soundtrack would be to wait until I have the game in my hands and I’m playing for the first time, absorbing every aspect of it, and having the music accentuate the emotions I’m feeling, as a great game soundtrack is supposed to.  I don’t know if I can wait that long.  But if I can manage to wait, I have the utmost faith that I’ll be blown away.  But for now, 12 AM is heavenly, and the best sign of a wonderful soundtrack that will inspire and teach me, and stick with me for life.
