bestleftforgotten-deactivated20 asked: Also while we're on the subject, what are your thoughts on Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers.
I liked it for what it was. I don’t think it was a marvelously necessary film, and I think they maybe should have held off until they had the funds to achieve what they wanted without resorting to using like, 40% recycled footage, but in its core, I think the message of the film was what was interesting. A lot of people really dislike the film because it repaints these characters in a completely different light, no character is the same as they were, for better or for worse. People don’t quite get that they are not the same characters. The movie was a literal alternate universe story, one that existed alongside the original world. I consider it a part of the canon, even, especially in light of what we’re seeing in AO. The goal of the children in the movie was to recreate their own world using the Image/Eizo to that of the world of the original series, where they thought they belonged to begin with, and of course into a world where time would stop for everyone but them and they would continue to live without having to deal with their rapid aging. But of course, they realize that if they go through with their plan, Talho’s child will never be born, and they realize that they can’t recreate their myth, they can’t change their world to be this idealistic fantasy world where everything will go right for them. But they can make the best of the world they do live in in the knowledge that their child won’t grow up with the same aging condition that was placed on them. It also had sort of a double meaning for the viewer, that they also needed to give up on the “myth” they knew of the original series and accept these new characters as a recreated myth. It was kind of a troll to everyone who would give the “why are they so different!!!” complaint and I really like that, though it still sucks to hear that complaint so often.
Eureka then submits her memories to the Image for the world to be recreated basically into what it was, just without Renton’s death. The whole ending bit with naked moeblob Eureka bothered me a little bit, but it at least narratively made sense. I just don’t understand why at that point she was suddenly loyal to Renton after some forced Renton hugging and crying when she really sacrificed all of her memories to the Image, that was kind of sexist?
But overall, yeah, I thought it was solid. Where the movie was less than great for me was the intense amount of infodump from characters we didn’t care a thing about. There are much better ways to tell your story than to have boring people in boring lighting say really boring things in a boring tone. But that happened a lot. They just tried to cram too much mythos into that movie, but I felt it could’ve actually been pulled off better if they had the budget. It’s at least scored better in the mythos department than AO has so far, so that’s a plus~*
(hahaaaa same)
Eureka Seven AO #11 Impressions~*
Since I won’t be there for the chat, my thoughts on Eureka Seven AO #11. Feel free to reblag with comments and such, I’ll see them when I’m not on a bus.
Dumb fanservice aside, Eureka AO ep 11 was alright. Connections are finally being drawn, it’s finally confirmed we’re hanging out in another world outside of the original, and stuff is at least getting somewhat weird-interesting. A lot of what happened this episode didn’t make a terrible amount of sense, but it was at least compelling. What’s going on with Elena, who she is, who Miller/Mirror is, her relation to Eureka, her relation to that white girl who was apparently her but died, whatever the hell is going on, it’s at least not BORING, and that’s a nice step.
Also that shot with Eureka and Naru side by side sorta punched my theory that the weird otherworld 3-seat Nirvash was meant for Ao, Eureka, and Renton. But who knows.
Also, yo, I was so excited to hear a bg song with Koji Nakamura’s vocals. Sounded straight like an iLL song and it was great.
My problems with the show still persist, things still kind of keep _happening_ without much basis, characters aren’t that consistent, but with the direction its going I’m at least a little less bitter about the whole ordeal!
Keep it up, animo.
Also, yo
Who’s ready for some AO?
I dunno, I’m still not so sure if I like this show all that much…
I’m skeptical, but I certainly like it. I’m not sure if I LOVE it, it really all depends on one thing: how it connects. I’m sure by episode 20 some interesting things would have happened, and then we will finally make the connection and understand why things are the way they are in this world. Either that will happen, or it won’t and it will blow. Either way, it’s been a fun ride thus far.
I hear a lot of people really upset about the fact that we don’t understand so much about this world and they don’t get how it’s supposed to be a sequel. AO isn’t going to jump right into that. This is its own world with its own story to tell first before drawing those connections. Ao has his own arc to complete and his own complications, Renton and Eureka have already had theirs. In due time, friends~

Eureka seveN ~alternative soundtrack~ is available to download!
This is a mix of sorts put together of all of the songs I could find that were used for the episode titles of the original Eureka Seven TV series. Each episode title, or most, is a reference to a song, a song not heard in the soundtrack itself, but are in the show only by name. I set out to find all of said songs I could. I was 96% successful in doing so; two episodes, “Absolute Defeat” and “Sky Rock Gate” do not seem to have song counterparts. So either they don’t exist and this is all of them, or this will forever be incomplete because I don’t even know where to start looking for those final two. The soundtrack is an interesting mix, mostly of dance jams, but a few alternative, rock, or jazz jams are included too. I really enjoy listening to it, and I hope you do too.
Also to be noted that this may not be 100% accurate. This is all fan-interpretation, taken from articles around the internet and a bit of my own sleuthing. Some do feel as if they’re a stretch, but it is what it is, and it’s all good music. As an apology for the two mystery ghost tracks and the potential inaccuracy, there is a bonus “disc 2” with three tracks from the current 3 episodes of Eureka Seven AO! As AO airs, I’ll be collecting music on an episode by episode basis, so by the end we should have an AO alternative soundtrack as well. Thanks a lot guys, and thanks for downloading (also if you have a recommendation as to where I can host this that isn’t rapidshare since it is the slowest, help me out! Feel free to host it on your own and link it to me if you have the means of doing so, I’ll update the link in this post with it.)
So, yeah, DUNK ON THIS BUSINESS!

Due to many complaints, I split this into THREE parts and put it on Mediafire. I hope this goes quicker for you guys. :(

I just want more Astral Ocean right now.
Is that too much to ask?
agreed but as a side note this is a really beautiful gif from a really beautiful scene and I’m sad it made me double take because it looked like something else completely
